„Zeitlos schön“ is a poster commissioned by the Bellerive Museum in Zurich about fashion photography from Man Ray to Mario Testino.
Beginning with a choice of images the client sent us, we tried to convey a fashion atmosphere through a Logo like typography using capitals of the title „Zeitlos Schön”, a rahter common method within the fashion industry if you look at logos of Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Coco Chanel and so on. The image we presented first was a wonderful black and white image that showed Jean Shrimpton photographed by David Bailey for British Vogue, February 1962. The typography was nearly the same like in the final poster but it was green instead of 2-colored. Everyone was really happy with this solution but then problems with the right of the image occurred so that we had to find an alternative picture. We didn’t want to give up the typography idea so it took us a while till we found this alternative picture.
The final poster was silkscreen printed with 6 colours.
Thanks to Uldry for this wonderful job.
